The Joint JICA Conference on the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Education Initiative was held on 25 May 2026 at the Mumtaz Mirza Auditorium, Hyderabad, bringing together government officials, representatives of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), Education Management Organizations (EMOs), education experts, auditors, school leaders, and other key stakeholders to review progress and share experiences in advancing quality education across Sindh.
Welcoming the participants, Mr. Ashiq Hussain Khoso, Senior Director, PPP Node, School Education & Literacy Department (SE&LD), highlighted the significant role of the PPP model in improving access to quality education and strengthening school management across the province. Mr. Dilawar Mangi, representing JICA, emphasized the importance of investing in girls’ education as a foundation for sustainable social and economic development.
The conference featured presentations and documentary screenings by partner organizations, including the Research and Development Foundation (RDF), SZABIST-ZAB-Ed, and the International Rescue Committee (IRC), showcasing the achievements and best practices of JICA-supported schools. Representatives from RDF, including Mr. Masood A. Mahesar, Ms. Zohra, and the project team, shared project successes and lessons learned. Regional Directors of Education, Mr. Mumtaz Khuhro and Mr. Mumtaz Nautkani, also addressed the gathering, reaffirming the government’s commitment to strengthening education through collaborative partnerships.
Students from GGES Bhirya Village inspired participants by sharing their experiences on the importance of girls’ education and presenting a patriotic song that reflected their enthusiasm and confidence.
Technical sessions focused on educational outcomes, school management practices, Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), institutional responsibilities, and concession agreement requirements under the PPP framework. The conference concluded with recognition of the valuable contributions made by partner organizations, teachers, coordinators, and education authorities in supporting education reforms across Sindh, followed by the distribution of souvenirs, a group photograph, and a networking lunch.
