Enabling Better Learning for Every Child
A provincial workshop was held to present the Urban Food and WASH Stakeholders
Engagement Strategy. The event began with a welcome address by Dr. Bakhshal Lashari,
Chairperson RDF Board, highlighting the project’s impact, and brought together government,
development, and civil society to promote sustainable urban food systems and WASH.

Ms. Zofeen T. Ebrahim, renowned writer and RDF Vice-Chairperson, led a powerful session
on May 17, 2025, at TRC Hyderabad titled "Telling the Untold." She urged development
professionals to embed environmental and social justice in their storytelling, Her insights
sparked engaging dialogue among RDF’s field teams on using narratives
for meaningful impact.

Dr. Marri’s insightful session explored innovation, institutional roles, and sustainable
strategies in Sindh’s agricultural economy. The event marked the beginning of RDF’s
internal lecture series, engaging staff and board members alike.

Dr. Fateh Marri Launches RDF’s Visionary Lecture Series
RDF planted 7,500 trees across 32 villages to combat climate change
and promote afforestation,engaging schools, youth, and local growers in
building a greener, healthier future.

RDF Leads Tree Plantation Drive 2024 with 7,500 Saplings
To address water scarcity in remote villages of Sanghar, RDF installed 45
durable hand pumps, benefiting 911 families and 4824 individuals with
reliable access to safe drinking water.

OUR PROGRAMS

Agriculture and Livelihood

program strategy particularly addresses SDG2 which refers to food security and sustainable agriculture. The strategy targets small and tenant farmers and agricultural and urban labor and to support Government departments and academic institutions in research and extension of good agricultural practices and promoting Climate Change resilience.

Health, Nutrition and Sanitation

program stems from RDF’s WASH achievements. Major client groups are households and women groups. Main strategy is to improve WASH and nutrition of the vulnerable communities. RDF HNS program directly contributes towards SDG2 (End hunger and Food security), SDG3 (Healthy lives), and SDG5 (Water and Sanitation). Indirectly,

Education and Learning

program aims to mobilize donor and philanthropic resources for construction of schools; use of technology to improve teaching and learning; and organizing competitions and events to attract children towards learning. RDF promotes SMCs as the vehicle to implement the program and builds community-Government partnership through them to achieve the sector objective.

Water and Energy Resource Development

is important to environmental development in rural areas. Rural communities particularly in remote areas do not have water and energy infrastructure and connections. They rely on rainwater and ground water for their drinking, domestic and agricultural needs. Similarly, households and community rely on animal power due to absence.

Community Resilience Building

program merges humanitarian response, advocacy for human rights, gender equality and disaster risk reduction activities. At the heart of the program is to end discrimination and inequalities and build social harmony in the society. The program is proposed at the Provincial level and uses media and press to reach out to the entire Provincial population.
