On August 19, 2024, a significant event was held at ZABTech Gharo, Thatta, under the project titled Strengthening the Socio-Economic Resilience of Youth by Promoting Their Economic Self-Reliance in the Three Provinces of Pakistan. The initiative is implemented by the Research and Development Foundation (RDF), supported by Welthungerhilfe (WHH), and funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).
The ceremony celebrated the empowerment of youth through skill development, where 22 beauticians and 35 tailoring trainees were awarded tool kits and certificates. Several regular students also received their tool kits for the first time. The event featured notable guests such as Mr. Naiz Siyal (RDF Program Manager), Mr. Muhammad Ali (Malkani), Ms. Waheedan, Mr. Muzafar Hussain (Director STEVTA), and Mr. Sarwan (Economic Expert, WHH). They addressed the trainees, encouraging them to leverage these skills for long-term self-reliance and economic growth.
Heartfelt testimonials from participants like Rawo Kaiynat and Ghulam Fatima underscored the life-changing impact of these training programs. Despite minor timing issues, the event marked a major milestone in promoting youth empowerment and economic resilience.
The RDF team, including Aftab Hussain (Project Manager), Doleh Khan (M&E Officer), Amin Khatti (TVET Officer), Shumaila, Rukhsar, and Suhail (S.O), played a key role in the event’s success.
