

A District Water Dialogue was held at the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Office, Umerkot, under the chairmanship of the Additional Deputy Commissioner-I (ADC-I). The dialogue brought together representatives from relevant government departments, partner organizations, and Village Development Committee (VDC) members to discuss key Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) challenges and strengthen coordination for sustainable solutions.
During the dialogue, community representatives highlighted critical issues, including water salinity, recurring drought conditions, and their adverse impact on livelihoods and access to safe drinking water. Participants engaged in constructive discussions to identify practical and sustainable interventions aimed at improving WASH services across the district.
The dialogue concluded with a renewed commitment from all stakeholders to enhance collaboration, promote coordinated action, and work collectively towards ensuring improved access to safe water and better WASH services for communities in Umerkot.
