

For the first time in the history of Sindh’s Technical Education and Vocational Training (TEVVT) sector, today a high-level dialogue was organized to promote Green Skills within the policy and program framework of the sector, at Karachi. The event was convened by RDF under the WHH-supported project “Skill Up Plus” , with strategic support from the Benazir Bhutto Shaheed Human Resource and Research Development Board (BBSHRRDB), ZABTech, The Hunar Foundation, TIME, BBS Utech Khairpur Mirs, and Sindh TEVTA. The dialogue featured two panel discussions, structured around the themes of Demand and Supply in the job market (details shared separately).
The event was chaired by Mr. Munawar Ali Mithani, Secretary BBSHRRDB, who commended RDF and WHH for their efforts in advancing Green Skills. He emphasized that BBSHRRDB will integrate these initiatives into its regular youth skill training and employability programs, ensuring that collaboration with RDF continues beyond workshops.
During the proceedings, Mr. Niaz Sial, CD-Advisor, delivered the welcome remarks and highlighted RDF’s role as a development actor. Mr. Aftab Hussain Soomro presented the key achievements of the Skill Up Plus project. Ms. Isabel Bogorinsky, Country Head of Welthungerhilfe, joined online from Islamabad and underscored the importance of collaboration among TVET actors in Sindh, while appreciating BBSHRRDB’s support for the event. Setting up the topic of Green Skill Promotion, and defining the space and gaps between Demand and Supply of skilled human resource, in job market a key presentation was delivered by TEVT Expert Mr. Naeem Akhter. The day-long session concluded with a vote of thanks by Mr. Yousif Baloch, Director Academics and Trainings, Sindh TEVTA.
